Description

You step out of the car at the cruise port and your medication is already rolling away with the porter. Your passport is at the bottom of a tote bag, your boarding pass lives in an app that just logged you out, and you arrived two hours before your arrival window because earlier felt safer. Cruise terminals aren't especially difficult. Most delays are the ones people carry in with them: the wrong documents, the wrong bag, or the wrong assumptions from the airport. I'm Calvin Rusk. I'm sixty-five, and the terminal is not the place I start figuring things out. Here are the nine checks I make before I step onto the ship, from a boarding pass that still works when your phone doesn't and the exact terminal and arrival window, to a five-second luggage tag check, a security bag that opens without unpacking your life, prohibited items, asking for mobility assistance before you're exhausted, medical equipment, what to do if security pulls you aside, and number one, the check that can stop your cruise before it ever starts. What's the one terminal mistake you see passengers make over and over again? Put it in the comments. Next time: what I do before the porter takes my suitcase, so a late or missing bag is much easier to deal with. #CruiseTips #CruiseTerminal #CruiseAfter60
