the crown (2016) - elizabeth becomes queen

queen elizabeth (claire foy) takes the coronation oath, vowing to preserve the monarchy's sacred traditions before undergoing the anointing, a ritual where holy oil is applied to her hands, breast, and head, echoing the biblical consecration of kings and prophets like king solomon. between the orbs, scepters, and dense liturgy, the ceremony deliberately trades plain, legal language for pure symbolism and mysticism, turning an ordinary woman into an extraordinary, untouchable figure of authority. season 1, episode 5: "smoke and mirrors" watch the crown now: http://AAN.SonyPictures.com/TheCrown some of the links above are affiliate links; we may earn a small commission if you click through and make a purchase. the crown follows the reign of queen elizabeth ii, tracing the political rivalries and personal sacrifices that shaped the british monarchy from the inside out. you love it here. admit it. subscribe: @grlcoded #thecrown #clairefoy #queenelizabeth #coronation #anointing
