Description
What if you bought the new flying Tesla? One seat, ten air nozzles, and a traffic jam you can jump. In this fictional animated story, you drive across a tunnel ceiling, freeze the milkshakes at a drive-thru, and challenge a supercar at the race track. The catch: every burst of air brings the gauge closer to empty.
Fan-made speculative animation. Not affiliated with Tesla. The everyday adventures and air-gauge readings are invented for this story; the sources and notes below distinguish reported claims from our fiction.

Sources & notes
• On October 15, 2026, Tesla unveiled its next-generation Roadster at a SpaceX test site in Texas. In the demo, the car launched off a curved ramp, cleared five other Tesla vehicles and landed softly in a cloud of condensation using cold-gas thrusters (NBC News; TechCrunch, Oct. 15–16, 2026).
• Tesla lists three versions: Performance (two seats, suction fans), Thrust (two seats, rear thrusters) and Rocket (one seat, thrusters around the car, invite only). Tesla says the Rocket version is not approved for public roads. No price has been announced; reservations are $50,000 (Performance) and $250,000 (Thrust), and production is planned for 2028 (NBC News; Electrek; TechCrunch, Oct. 2026).
• Tesla's engineering VP said the car's 10 thrusters run on about 600 liters (about 160 gallons) of rechargeable compressed air, and Tesla says carbon-fiber overwrapped pressure vessels fill “every usable void” in the car (TechCrunch, Oct. 15, 2026).
• Tesla claims 0–60 mph in under 0.59 seconds for the Rocket version (Electrek, Oct. 15, 2026); this is a launch-night claim, not an independent test. 60 mph is 26.8 m/s, so 0.59 s means an average of about 45 m/s², roughly 4.6 g, and about 26 feet (7.9 m) of road—less than two car lengths. Space Shuttle crews experienced up to about 3 g during ascent (NASA Technical Reports Server, 19940019731).
• A cold-gas thruster burns nothing: it pushes the car by blasting compressed gas out of a nozzle, the same action–reaction as a balloon you let go of (Newton's third law; NASA Glenn Research Center). Cold gas is inefficient, so independent estimates point to seconds of lift, not minutes (ExplainX analysis, Oct. 2026), and news reports describe the demo flights as brief. Tesla hasn't published a flight time.
• Compressed gas that expands quickly cools down, which can condense moisture in the air into fog; that's why the demo car landed in a white cloud (basic thermodynamics; NBC News description of the demo).
• Tesla says fans pulling air from under the car can hold it upside down, even when it's not moving, and claims Track Mode downforce “approaching F1 levels”; it also says the thrusters produce four to five times the force the tires can handle. Thrust and Rocket are add-ons to the Performance car, which has the suction system (Electrek, Oct. 15, 2026). Driving across a tunnel ceiling or parking on a wall is our dramatization.
• Formula One cars can generate over 5 g of lateral load in the fastest corners, such as Suzuka's Turn 1 (Mercedes-AMG Petronas F1 Team, “G-force and Formula One explained”).
• The Brabham BT46B “fan car,” driven by Niki Lauda, won the 1978 Swedish Grand Prix, its only Formula One race; Brabham withdrew it afterward (Motorsport Magazine; Wikipedia, “Brabham BT46”).
• On February 6, 2018, SpaceX's first Falcon Heavy carried a Tesla Roadster with a mannequin called Starman into an orbit around the Sun that reaches past Mars (NBC News, Feb. 2018).
• Tesla first unveiled the next-generation Roadster in November 2017, taking $50,000 reservations and promising production in 2020 (Fox Business; TechRadar).
• Fiction: the air gauge numbers, how long each hop lasts, the suction draining the battery, overnight refills, the ticket, the race track, Dad's 2017 deposit, the drawbridge jump and Dad's night flights are invented for this story.
