Description

I built a wooden can strainer from scratch to see if this unusual kitchen tool could actually work. The idea is simple: clamp it onto an open can, tip it over the sink, and drain the liquid without needing a separate colander or strainer. In this video I walk through the full build process, from laying out the design and cutting the parts to shaping, sanding, assembly, finishing, and finally testing it on several different-sized cans. Want to build one yourself? The printable plans and templates for this project, along with all of my other woodworking plans are available on my website: https://roguegrainco.com My plans are designed around common woodworking tools and include printable templates, dimensions, material information, and build guidance to help you make the projects yourself.
