Polar Bears Didn't Scare Me Until THIS... | Joe Rogan

A polar bear can smell a seal through three feet of ice. On sea ice at night, with the shotgun frozen solid and the snowmobile dead, that is not a wildlife fact. That is the distance between you and the only animal up there that treats a human as food. Nat Geo left a cameraman overnight to light the bears. The electric fence had no battery. The coat caught fire in the tent. No bear showed — and that is the version that still keeps people up. The ones that do show do not stalk. They take. A boat hits ice, the next rescue is hours away, and the animal swims the gap, grabs one man off the floe, and eats him while the rest watch from the next piece of ice. The cold is the other killer. SERE training has run to minus 80 with almost no calories, and one mistake with moisture ends it. The bear is the part that chooses you.
