Description

How To Create A Solar Sand Battery Heater | Free Heat This Winter! When the power goes out on the coldest night of the year, the house starts losing its warmth by the minute. You do what the store tells you. You buy the expensive battery box, it gives you a couple of hours of heat, and then it quits. And next winter you pay for it all over again. My granddaddy never paid for his warmth. He kept it in plain stone, and today I am going to show you how to do the same thing with the sun and a pot of ordinary sand, for next to nothing. I live back up a holler in the Appalachian mountains, and I keep this place up with my own hands, the way my people always have. The old people stored heat long before there was a power line on any road up here. They warmed bricks and soapstones on the cookstove and built stone hearths that held their heat through the night. A sand battery works on that same old idea, only the sun does the work. No battery, no inverter, no power station, just a few plain parts and a bit of knowing. In this one I walk you through the whole setup, show you how hot the sand really got and how long it held that heat, and share the old secret that makes it work far better than my first try. I also give you the honest safety word, because hot sand and solar wiring are serious business, and I will not have anyone hurt. This is a small emergency heat for a small room, not a way to heat the whole house, and I tell you plainly where the limits are. Tell me in the comments how you keep warm when the power goes out. And tell me your county and your climate, because a damp cold coast and a dry cold plain are two different winters, and I like to map it by where you all write from. I read every one. Next time, I will show you how to build the insulated box step by step, along with a little fan that spins all by itself from the heat of the sand and moves the warmth around the room with no power at all. The old people kept their feet warm through the coldest nights with a hot brick and a wool blanket. The people who built this country with their hands knew how to keep a house warm, and we are only just starting to remember it.
