On May 2, 2025, officers responded to a trespass complaint at a local shopping mall. The subject — Benjamin Audette — had been formally banned from the property the prior year. He came back anyway. What followed was a foot chase through the mall, a violent arrest struggle in the parking lot, the execution of three outstanding warrants, and multiple new criminal charges — all captured on bodycam.
This video provides legal and tactical analysis of body camera footage from May 2, 2025. The footage was obtained and released publicly.
⚖️ Legal Analysis Includes:
- Criminal trespass law — prior notice requirements and the moment the offense is complete
- Resisting/obstructing a peace officer — from misdemeanor to felony elevation
- Graham v. Connor use of force analysis applied to the arrest struggle
- Officer legal obligations in response to "I can't breathe" claims during prone restraint
- Use of force continuum evaluation — what was used, what was available
- Three outstanding warrants as independent arrest authority
- Two knives discovered post-arrest — retroactive force analysis
📋 Case Outcome: Benjamin Audette charged with resisting or obstructing a peace officer, causing injury to a peace officer, criminal trespass to property after notice, and three outstanding warrant services.
🎓 Educational Purpose: This content is presented under Fair Use (17 U.S.C. § 107) for commentary, criticism, and education.
⚠️ Content Advisory: This video contains bodycam footage of a foot chase and physical arrest involving active subject resistance. While presented for educational legal analysis, some viewers may find the physical confrontation content intense. Viewer discretion is advised.
