Description

Victor Vescovo sold the seat next to him for $750,000, for a journey to the bottom of the world. Here's what 7 of his passengers found down there. #oceanexploration #victorvescovo #marianatrench ⚠️https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vZifPufY1P8&list=PL0H5lrcTOMY8tzqBkPBDC3vdhiaLAcy8N&index=19&pp=iAQBsAgC 🌊 Until 2019, only three people had ever reached the bottom of the Challenger Deep, nearly 7 miles down. Then the fourth put a price on the seat beside him in his submarine. $750,000. Over the next two years, the people who climbed in found about 7 miles of abandoned cable lying on the seafloor, an undersea mountain that wasn't on any map, and more anemones in one patch than anyone had seen at that depth. One brought back water for London's Natural History Museum to compare with a sample from 1875. One put a microphone on the bottom. One went back to the spot where his father landed in 1960. And one saw something no human had ever seen alive with their own eyes. Then the whole submarine was sold. So who sat in that seat, and what did each of them find? Let's find out. 🧭 Chapters 0:00 A $750,000 seat 0:37 Richard Garriott 2:17 Hamish Harding 4:12 Vanessa O’Brien 6:01 Ying-Tsong Lin 7:11 Kelly Walsh 8:29 Larry Connor 10:21 Dawn Wright 11:42 Sold 🌊 SUBSCRIBE for other ocean explorations! https://www.youtube.com/@UnchartedDepthsOfficial?sub_confirmation=1 Thanks so much for watching!
