Description

In 2018, Doug Ford promised Ontarians he would never touch the Greenbelt. Four years later, his government quietly removed 7,400 acres of protected land through a three-week process run by a chief of staff who took instructions from developers at a private dinner. The developers stood to make $8.3 billion. The housing crisis they claimed to be solving went unsolved. And when two independent watchdogs documented what happened, the government passed a law, retroactively, to make sure it could never be fully investigated again.
