Description

Open your dishwasher tomorrow morning and breathe in. Sour, wet, like a dishrag left in a bag, coming out of the one machine whose whole job is to make things clean. You ran the vinegar. You bought the lemon tablets. It worked for four days, and then it came back. Mi amigo, it never left. You were scrubbing the walls of a room while the garbage sat in the floor. In this video: • The hidden FILTER in the floor of the machine: bottom rack out, quarter turn, lift. And the flat second screen under it that even careful people miss • WHY nobody told you: the old loud dishwashers had a grinder and cleaned themselves. Around 2010 the makers took the grinder out to make them quiet, put a screen in, and mentioned it once in the manual • The SUMP under the filter: what water is normal, what is not, and why you wipe it with flat fingers • The one way to get this wrong: the filter must LOCK back in • The DRAIN HOSE under the sink and the high loop that keeps sink water and drain air out of your machine. A zip tie fix • Why you run the disposal before you run the dishwasher • The SEALED DOOR: why the new quiet latches make a musty box, and the free habit that ends it • READ THE SMELL: sour is the filter, sewer is the hose, musty is the door, and hot plastic means stop • What NOT to pour in there: no bleach, and never bleach with vinegar • Who profits: the monthly tablets, the hundred and forty dollar service call, and the new machine with the very same filter in it Five minutes a month. That is the whole price of a quiet dishwasher. Somebody should have told you the day they installed it. I am not a licensed repairman and I never claim to be. If you smell hot plastic or anything electrical and nothing has fallen on the heating element, turn the machine off at the breaker and call a professional. If water stands across the whole floor of the tub, that is a drain problem, and my first dishwasher video walks that road. Tell me in the comments: how many years was your filter in there, what was the worst thing in it, and your county and state. I read every one.
