A 2012 university survey of 422 men in prison for burglary found most were in and out in under 10 minutes, and 79% were after cash. A police department in Illinois printed the places they already know in March 2026: under the mattress, in the freezer, behind the toilet tank. In January 2026, before the big storm, shoppers were emptying store shelves of anything that keeps. In 2009, during 19 days without power on the ridge, Hank's freezer held 3 days, and nothing in it got eaten. A house with everything in one place can lose all of it to one find.

In this video, we talk about 20 ways to spread what you've put by through your own house, including splitting it across the rooms, a decoy cupboard in the kitchen, keeping the bedroom and the way out clear, three feet from the furnace and the stove, 21 gallons of water under the spare bed, a dozen cans behind the kickplate, the stair in a damp basement, a board under everything, why the attic is a no, cans behind the books on a strapped bookcase, the false-bottom bin, the hollow under the bottom drawer, pests in the least disturbed places, the box marked old bills, the shelf he'll find anyway, the list of where, keeping the hidden cans the newest, a tote at the neighbor's, and the one thing in the house that's never part of the stockpile.
🔔 Subscribe so the next one reaches you before the next long week with the store shelves bare.
💬 Comment where you're watching from and how many inches you found behind your own kickplate.
