Description

#Evolution #Animals #Predators A marine iguana is supposed to eat algae. So why was one spotted hunting and eating a crab? Most of us think of predators and prey as completely separate categories. Wolves hunt deer. Hawks hunt rabbits. Sharks hunt fish. End of story. But evolution doesn't see the world that way. Throughout Earth's history, some of the animals we think of as prey have gradually evolved into hunters. Small rodents became active predators. Plant-eaters developed a taste for meat. Entire lineages climbed the food chain over millions of years. In this video, we're exploring one of evolution's most fascinating questions: Could prey evolve into predators? We'll look at meat-eating deer, venom-resistant grasshopper mice, hunting marine iguanas, the origins of birds of prey, and why some of the deadliest predators on Earth started out as surprisingly vulnerable animals. Because in nature, predator and prey aren't fixed identities. They're just temporary roles. Drop your thoughts in the comments below—what animal alive today do you think is most likely to evolve into a predator in the future?
