🗓️ October 1 is not a deadline you have to beat. It is the day the federal government throws out the income limits, the deductions and the benefit amounts it has used since last autumn, and replaces every one. The agency says so on its own page, and that page is on screen here.
📕 Not one agency is required to write and tell an older American what they already qualify for. The Senior Benefits Handbook 2026 is the list nobody sends, with the current figure and form number against each program, and a property tax handbook comes with it. One program off it is worth more in a year to a household that qualifies than both books cost together — https://theclaiminsider.gumroad.com/l...
So a no issued this spring was worked out with numbers that stop existing next month, and nobody re-runs that decision for you. There are also four ways money gets counted differently once somebody in the house is sixty or older, and the first one is not a softer version of the usual test — it is not applied to you at all.
⚠️ This channel explains public federal rules in plain English. It is general education only, not legal, tax, financial or benefits advice, and creates no professional relationship. The figures were read on official government pages on the date of recording. Programs are run state by state and the standards are rewritten every October, so check your own paperwork with your state agency. This channel is not affiliated with any government agency and never asks for your account details.
