It’s the Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown: The Ending Nobody Talks About!

On October 27th, 1966, CBS aired a Halloween special built around a promise that never gets kept. Linus waits in the pumpkin patch for the Great Pumpkin. It never comes. Not that night, and not in the 34 years of strips that followed. In this video: the ending most rewatches skip, from Snoopy's Red Baron fantasy crashing into the patch to Linus swearing it will arrive next year. We also cover the sponsor segments that disappeared from later prints, Schulz's last Halloween strip in 2000, and how the special nearly vanished behind a paywall in 2020, until a petition of about a quarter of a million people changed the outcome.
