The door opens. A small, frightened puppy is pushed out onto the dirt path. Then the door shuts, and the car drives away. He runs after it as fast as his little legs can go. He barks. He cries. But the car only gets smaller and smaller, until it disappears around the bend. Inside it, a little girl presses her hand against the back window, reaching for him. She is already too far away. Night comes, and with it the rain. The puppy curls up under a bush, soaked and shivering, alone in the dark. Not far away, in a cozy little cabin, Roro the rabbit and Dodo the duckling are having supper beside a warm fire. Then Dodo hears it. A small, sad sound somewhere out in the rain. He waddles to the window, looks into the dark, and sees him. Roro does not wait. He throws open the door, runs out into the storm, and carries the shaking little dog inside. They dry him with a soft blanket, give him warm food and fresh water, and the three of them sleep together as the rain taps on the roof. But in the morning, the puppy is still listening for one sound only. The sound of the car that left him. When a car finally comes back down that path, Roro watches the puppy's whole body change, and he notices a small heart shaped locket hanging from his collar. That is when Roro has an idea. Will the little puppy find his family again? And can Roro & Dodo lead them back to him before the car is gone for good?
