Description
Calliope Mine Gray, Silverton, Colorado, winter 1936: a snowbound silver miner broke into a sealed glass-walled chamber 600 feet underground and found a living Gray. A UFO documentary on a close encounter buried in solid rock.
Built from eleven microcassette tapes a 91-year-old former miner recorded in a Grand Junction hospice in the last week of his life, after 68 years of silence, with original archival interview recordings from the U.S. National Archives. Seven men, a road closed until May, and a small gray being that ignored every light on the mountain except one carbide lamp. What came up out of that rock, and why did it spare only one man?
In this film:
• December 11, 1936 — a drill steel drops into a warm hollow on the 600-foot level of a San Juan Mountains silver mine
• December 13, 1936 — a chamber with walls like poured glass, six feet by four, inside solid granite-porphyry
• Day 10, December 23, 1936 — the Gray opens its eyes and follows only the flame of one miner's lamp
• Christmas Eve 1936 — it leaves a locked room and is found sitting by the mine hoist
• February 19, 1937 — the nailed-shut room is empty and the glass chamber has gone cold
• May 14, 1937 — the road crew breaks through, and two men from Denver take the shift log
• August 1937 — the mine portal is blasted shut for "the price of silver"
• 1995 — U.S. Air Force interviews on classified work and secrecy (Col. David D. Fulgham, Duke Gildenberg)
Across the testimony a quiet pattern emerges: the Grays do not take the people who find them. They wait, they watch, and the ones who come home are not always the ones who went down.
The material presented here explores experiencer testimony and historical context through investigative narrative storytelling rather than verified scientific claims. Some events are dramatized, and part of the visuals are reconstructed with generative AI. This content should not be taken as factual confirmation. Some identifying details have been altered.
