Description

We often assume we know exactly what dinosaurs looked like, but scientific reality is much weirder than the movies. This video explores how wrong our traditional image of dinosaurs might be, starting with how easily we could misinterpret a hippo skeleton if we didn't know better. We debunk famous myths, such as the T-Rex being blind to movement. In reality, the T-Rex had vision up to 13 times sharper than a human’s and physically could not have lived at the same time as a Stegosaurus. We also look at the soft tissues that don't fossilize—like fat, lips, and trunks—which suggests many dinosaurs looked completely different from their skeletal remains. This video covers these strange facts: The Real T-Rex: Why it had "floating ribs," a bulky stomach, and lips that covered its teeth. Dinosaur Sounds: Are movie roars fake? The "Wolverine" Dinosaur: A predator with 30cm curved claws and air-filled pneumatic bones. Polar Dinosaurs: The Nanuqsaurus, or "Polar Bear Lizard," that lived in the freezing darkness of Alaska. Mammals Fighting Back: The badger-sized Repenomamus that actually hunted and ate dinosaurs. Strange Behaviors: The theory of Titanosaurs consuming hallucinogenic Ergot fungus. The Nigersaurus: The "vacuum cleaner" dinosaur with 500 teeth lined up at the front of its mouth. Dinosaurs were truly weirder animals than we thought.
