Description

A technical aviation study produced by SpitfireCGI Studio, UK. Dedicated to the digital preservation of WWII history. At sunrise in 1944, over the English Channel, a tired and exhausted RAF crew of Lancaster EM-U faced a nightmare scenario. A V-1 "Flying Bomb" pulse-jet was closing fast from the rear, aimed directly at London. This 5-minute CGI film by SpitfireCGI is a meticulous reconstruction of a rare, fact-checked combat report. Watch as the Skipper pushes the throttles through the gate , pushing the Rolls-Royce Merlins to their absolute limit to buy just a few more seconds for his tail gunner. Experience the high-tension intercept from the cockpit to the rear turret, where Sergeant James Roy Marriott and his crew became the last line of defense against a Vengeance weapon, the pulse-jet menace known as the V-1. Honoring a Hero: Sergeant James Roy Marriott This film is dedicated to the memory of Sergeant James Roy Marriott and all the brave crew of Lancaster EM-U, 207 Squadron. On this 1944 mission, Marriott occupied the most dangerous seat in the aircraft, the rear turret. As a V-1 "Flying Bomb" closed in fast , he and his crew intheir heavy bomber found themselves the first line of defense. Their skill and nerves of steel under extreme "Emergency Power" conditions are a testament to the courage of RAF Bomber Command. We remember their sacrifice and the "Diver" patrols that saved countless lives on the ground. Lest We Forget. Historical & Cinematic Details: The Aircraft: Avro Lancaster B.I, Markings EM-U (207 Squadron). The Hero: Sergeant James Roy Marriott, Tail Gunner. The Maneuver: Maximum throttle "Emergency Power" to extend the intercept window. The Setting: Sunrise intercept over the English Channel, 1944. Fact-checked and brought to life with world-class CGI by SpitfireCGI, a global leader in WWII aviation animation.
