🧬 Lederberg’s Replica Plating Experiment | NEET Biology Lederberg’s Replica Plating Experiment demonstrated that mutations occur randomly and are not produced because of exposure to a selective agent. In this experiment, E. coli bacteria were first grown on a master plate. Using a sterile velvet surface, the bacterial colonies were replicated onto new plates containing an antibiotic.
