Why It Sucks to Be Jormungandr (In Myths and God of War)

Why does it suck to be Jormungandr? The World Serpent was doomed from birth, thrown into the sea by Odin, destined to fight Thor at Ragnarok, and then trapped in a time-loop in God of War Ragnarok. In this video we unpack Jormungandr's tragic story from both Norse mythology and God of War: from Loki's son to the Midgard Serpent, from Thor's fishing trip to Ragnarok explained, to the paradox where he is present at his own beginning. If you love norse mythology, mythology stories and god of war lore, this is the saddest loop in the nine realms. We cover Jormungandr's origin as Loki's son with Angrboda, why Odin banished him, how he grew to encircle Midgard as the world serpent, his rivalry with Thor, what really happens in Thor vs Jormungandr at Ragnarok, and how God of War Ragnarok turns his death into a rebirth with Atreus, Kratos and Angrboda. About MythLore Unpacked: We break down Greek, Norse, Egyptian and world mythology, separating legend from reality, from legendary creatures to forgotten gods.
