Hunting Amelia Earhart, USS Lexington and the Nazi Gold Train

Ships, planes and even a train vanished without a trace. From Amelia Earhart to the fabled Nazi gold train, the clues tell a stranger story than the myths. In this Mysterious Earth episode, we sift through hard evidence and famous dead ends: Amelia Earhart’s last transmissions, the debunked Jalowit Atoll photo, and Richard Yance’s 2018 forensic reanalysis hinting at Nikumaroro. Then we plunge into wartime seas as Paul Allen’s research vessel Petrel hunts the USS Indianapolis nearly 5,000 meters down and tracks the long-lost USS Lexington to 3,000 meters in the Coral Sea. Finally, we chase rumors through tunnels near Wolbrzyk, where ground-penetrating radar once teased a buried prize and Professor Janusz Madej cast doubt on the Nazi Gold Train itself. What really happened over the Pacific? How did technology transform two naval legends from rumor to reality while other mysteries resisted every search? Follow the facts, the missteps, and the jaw-dropping finds that separate history from wishful thinking. Watch to discover which clues matter most and why some enigmas refuse to close. #AmeliaEarhart #USSLexington #USSIndianapolis #NaziGoldTrain #WWIIhistory #Shipwrecks #MysteriousEarth
