From visiting Nepal as a child and trekking through the Himalayas to working in construction, restaurants and music, Jack’s journey took several unexpected turns before Nepal became his home. After moving closer to Nepali life, learning the Nepali language, attempting businesses in Nepal and eventually buying a camera for a trekking business, a failed business venture unexpectedly opened the door to a completely different career. Today, known by many Nepalis as “Jack Dai,” he travels beyond the usual tourist destinations, documenting rural Nepal, villages, local culture, traditions and everyday Nepali life.
