Description
He obeyed God, confronted a king, witnessed a miraculous healing, and refused a royal reward. Yet one moment of disobedience changed everything. Why did God allow a prophet to be killed by a lion?
This powerful Bible story follows the Man of God from Judah, who was sent to Bethel to confront King Jeroboam and prophesy against the altar. After boldly delivering God's message, he was deceived by an old prophet and returned to Bethel for a meal—breaking the direct command God had given him.
Later, a lion killed him on the road, yet something impossible happened: the lion did not eat the prophet or attack his donkey. The event became a lasting warning about obedience, deception, and taking God's Word seriously.
Three hundred years later, King Josiah fulfilled the prophecy spoken at Bethel.

1 Kings 13:33–34 — Jeroboam's continued rebellion.
2 Kings 23:15–18 — Josiah fulfills the prophecy at Bethel.
Watch until the end to understand why God allowed this terrifying judgment—and what it teaches us about partial obedience.
