Stop Burning Wood Like This (You're Wasting Half Your Firewood)

Most of the heat in a log never reaches the room. It leaves as pale vapour that looks like nothing more than smoke, and the habits that let it go were taught to almost everyone who burns wood. Lars Halvorsen, seventy-one, has heated the same timber farmhouse in the Gudbrandsdalen valley through fifty-one winters, and once sold wood badly himself before he understood why. Six mistakes, smallest first, and one of them can cost a house. #firewood #woodstove #topdownfire #moisturemeter #creosote
