Description

📘 THE BOOK: "The Old Scout Way: Walt's Camping & Fishing Manual" (120 camp and fishing tricks) 📗 ALSO: "The Old Scout Way: Walt's Camp Cooking Manual" (60 tricks for cooking with no kitchen) Get one, or both in a bundle: https://waltscampingsecrets.com I've fished Michigan lakes for sixty years, and the lures that earned the most fish for me were the cheap ones nobody fights over. In 2015 a homemade horse-head jig caught most of the fish that won the Bassmaster Classic. In this video I count down 15 cheap lures and rigs worth a spot in your box, with the size to buy, how to fish each one, and where some of them fall short. In this video: The blade bait for October walleye and bass, and the two ways to let it fall The Beetle Spin, the Kastmaster, the curly tail grub and the Rooster Tail, rigged the right way The Hula Popper, the Gitzit tube, the weedless Johnson Silver Minnow and the hair jig The Swedish Pimple from Gladstone, Michigan, the Texas rig, the Road Runner and the Dardevle The little crawdad behind one Wisconsin angler's 20,000th stream smallmouth Most of these cost less than ten dollars. Some of them have been catching fish since your grandfather's day. Michigan law forbids dumping leftover minnows into any lake or stream, so check your own state's bait rules too. On the ice, the Michigan DNR says no ice is safe ice and gives no thickness to trust, so test it with a spud as you go, wear a life jacket and carry ice picks. Which of these 15 is riding around unused in your tackle box? Tell me below.
