Description
📕 Get a beautiful perennial garden with less watering, fewer costly mistake from Henry’s Garden Blueprint:
https://henrysgardensecrets.com/
Twelve, fifteen dollars a pot - that's a perennial at the garden center in May. You water it all summer, and next spring the spot is bare, and you're back buying it again.
It isn't you. It's when and how it went in the ground. This week, many of those same plants are on the clearance rack, marked down - and October is the right time to plant them.
🍂 THREE OCTOBER RULES
Plant while the ground is workable, not by the calendar. Plant at the depth it grew in the pot (two exceptions on this list, with exact measurements). Keep watering until the ground freezes. And the bonus: mulch goes on after the freeze, not before.
📏 THE PEONY MEASUREMENT
About 1" in Maryland, 1½" in Pennsylvania, 2" in upstate New York - never deeper than 2". Too deep, and you get leaves and no flowers.
💬 COMMENT: Which of these do you already have - and which one has been in your yard the longest? I want to hear about the oldest one.
🔔 SUBSCRIBE - a new one every couple of days.
👍 LIKE if you've ever bought the same perennial twice.
📚 SOURCES - Perennial Plant Association (Perennial Plant of the Year list), university extension and horticulture sources (Missouri, Michigan State, Purdue), Styer's Peonies, Walters Gardens, Almanac. Full claim-by-claim list in the pinned comment on request.
