Her Killer Was Hiding In Her Inner Circle

Tommie Davis was found murdered inside her Dallas, Texas home in May 1993. For more than three decades, no one was arrested. Among the evidence preserved from her apartment was blood that did not belong to Tommie. When Dallas Police Detective Andrea Isom reopened the case decades later, new testing produced a DNA profile and a CODIS match under the name Tommy Lynn Jones. Investigators later determined that name was an alias connected to Gary Len Ross. Ross told detectives he knew Tommie and had been inside her apartment before her death, but he denied killing her. In October 2026, Ross was arrested and charged with capital murder. Tommie’s daughter, Lashaune Saulsman, later revealed that Ross is her half-brother. The criminal case remains pending, and Ross has not been convicted.
