Cain and Abel, redux: “East of Eden” spoiler review. Netflix series.

SPOILER REVIEW: I review Netflix’s adaptation of John Steinbeck’s novel, “East of Eden.” Steinbeck considered the novel his greatest work, an allegorical tale based on the “Cain and Abel” Bible story. The 7-part Netflix series stars Florence Pugh (who also executive produces) as Cathy Ames, a sociopathic woman that Steinbeck compared to the “serpent” in the Garden of Eden. I compare this adaptation to the classic film, “East of Eden,” starring James Dean.
