The Worst Tornado of All Time - Jarrell

On May 27, 1997, a massive tornado struck near Jarrell, Texas, and became one of the most devastating tornadoes ever recorded. Rated F5 on the Fujita Scale, the tornado produced some of the most extreme damage ever documented. What made Jarrell unique was its incredibly slow movement, allowing it to grind over homes for several minutes and leave entire neighborhoods completely destroyed. The hardest-hit area was Double Creek Estates, where dozens of homes were swept away and 27 people lost their lives. Meteorologists still study the storm today because of its unusual behavior and unprecedented level of destruction.
