65+ Famous Hollywood Stars of the 50s–80s — You May Not Recognize Them Today

Before social media, streaming, and celebrity culture as we know it today, these handsome Hollywood stars lived on movie screens, television sets, and magazine covers. They were the heartthrobs who defined entire generations—romantic leading men, rebellious bad boys, golden-haired dreamboats, and rugged icons whose faces became unforgettable to millions. In this nostalgic Then & Now 2026 journey, we revisit 65+ Hollywood heartthrobs from the 1950s through the 1980s and look at how time changed them. Some remained in the spotlight for decades, others quietly stepped away from Hollywood, while several beloved stars are sadly no longer with us. From classic names such as Tyrone Power, Farley Granger, and Troy Donahue to later favorites including Michael Biehn, Eric Roberts, Adrian Zmed, Michael Paré, Richard Grieco, Grant Show, Dermot Mulroney, Jason Priestley, and many more, these men once captured the imagination of audiences with unforgettable looks, charisma, and screen presence. Some aged gracefully and continued acting. Others changed careers, disappeared from public life, or embraced quieter lives far from Hollywood. And for viewers who remember watching them in their youth, seeing these faces again may bring back first crushes, Friday-night television, and memories of a very different era.
