Why Nepal Still Can’t Build a Railway Network

Nepal Railway : 100 वर्षको इतिहास, तर अझै अधुरो सपना Nepal had a railway nearly 100 years ago. So why does Nepal still not have a National Railway Network? In this documentary, we explore the untold story of Nepal’s railway history, from the first railway connecting Raxaul and Amlekhgunj in 1927 to the ambitious plans for the East-West Electric Railway, Kathmandu–Raxaul Railway, and Kerung–Kathmandu Railway. We examine why Nepal’s railway development has struggled because of difficult geography, high construction costs, political instability, limited financial resources, and weak project implementation.
