It is a part of the larger composition called Sri Dasam Granth. This prayer is recited for protection, spiritual strength, and inner peace. It is especially known for instilling courage and faith in the devotee. Chaupai Sahib begins with “Hamri Karo Hath Dey Rachha”, meaning “Please extend Your hand to protect me.” It emphasizes the power of God as the supreme protector who saves His devotees from enemies, fear, and evil influences. Sikhs often recite it as part of their daily Nitnem (routine prayers), especially in the evening. It is also frequently read during difficult times for divine support and is a common part of the Sikh Ardas (prayer ceremony)
