Starting in January, the rules for your Social Security, Medicare, and taxes sort you into four groups, and the only thing that decides your group is the year you were born. Two people can do exactly the same thing and one pays nothing while the other pays a penalty every month for life.
In this video I walk through each group, oldest first: the widow’s survivor rule that can hold a check below what she was promised, the 2027 first-ever full retirement age of 67, the senior deduction that ends at a birth-year cliff, and the New Year’s Day birthday rule that moves you between groups.
👇 Tell me your birth year in the comments and which group you’re in!
