Description
⚓ From Steel to Strength. Built for Victory Over the Unseen.
Witness the construction journey of INS Mangrol, the third ship of the Mahe-class Anti-Submarine Warfare Shallow Water Craft (ASW SWC), designed to enhance the Indian Navy’s shallow-water anti-submarine warfare capabilities.
Built by Cochin Shipyard Limited (CSL), Kochi, INS Mangrol represents India's growing self-reliance in defence manufacturing, with over 80% indigenous content. The ship brings together Indian defence firms and MSMEs, reflecting the nation's expanding capabilities in naval design, shipbuilding and complex systems integration.
Designed for operations in coastal waters, INS Mangrol combines shallow-draft agility, waterjet propulsion and modern sonar systems to detect, track and counter underwater threats. As a force multiplier for the Indian Navy's anti-submarine warfare grid, the ship enhances coastal defence and adds versatility to fleet operations.
From steel cutting and keel laying to launch, sea trials and delivery, every stage of INS Mangrol's construction reflects India's commitment to indigenous innovation, technological advancement and maritime security.
