They Were Hunted Like Animals—Then Shot for Their Faith

Three Carmelite nuns gave their lives for Christ during the Spanish Civil War. Blessed Maria Pilar, Blessed Teresa of the Child Jesus, and Blessed Maria Angeles were persecuted simply for being Catholic religious sisters. On July 24, 1936, they faced death with courage, forgiveness, and unwavering faith, with Sister Teresa proclaiming, “¡Viva Cristo Rey!” — “Long live Christ the King!” Beatified by Pope St. John Paul II in 1987, these heroic martyrs remind us of the incredible courage that comes from a life completely devoted to Christ. #Catholic #CatholicChurch #Martyrs #GuadalajaraMartyrs #SpanishCivilWar #Carmelite #CarmeliteNuns #BlessedMariaPilar #BlessedTeresa #BlessedMariaAngeles #Saints #CatholicSaints #MartyrsForChrist #VivaCristoRey #Faith #Christianity ---- The following information were compiled from: https://www.phatmass.com/phorum/topic/121149-discalced-carmelite-nun-communities/page/31/ Music: 🎶 Memories of Stone by Scott Buckley Link: https://youtu.be/zmCgf2dnf60?si=vTbn9filFgumdxIg 'Memories of Stone by Scott Buckley - released under CC-BY 4.0. www.scottbuckley.com.au ----- Follow me on my socials: X: https://twitter.com/jerome_chong9?t=Hh0IU1AQNW3Ja1r2AXiTJw&s=09 Instagram: @jeromec97 Email: [email protected]
