Description
Maya desperately wanted a good job and the independence that came with earning her own money. What she didn’t know was that Ethan had quietly used his connections to help her get hired—and was secretly funding her salary through the company because he wanted to see her succeed.
But once Maya started earning well, her attitude changed. She became disrespectful toward Ethan, sent a large amount of money to her ex-boyfriend Marcus, and eventually admitted that she had only stayed with Ethan because he financially supported her. Believing she no longer needed him, Maya walked away from their relationship.
Then everything collapsed.
Her job disappeared, Marcus vanished with the money she invested in his supposed business, and Maya finally discovered the truth about the salary she had been so proud of.
By the time she returned to Ethan begging for another chance, Ethan had already learned something far more valuable than the money he lost: who Maya became when she believed she no longer needed him.
A dramatic story about love, greed, financial independence, loyalty, betrayal, arrogance, gratitude, consequences, and discovering someone's true character.
