Is Being a Good Person Enough? | Righteousness by Grace Is being a good person enough to stand righteous before God? Are our good works, moral life, religious practices, or efforts enough to make us acceptable to God? In this powerful Bible teaching, “Is Being a Good Person Enough? | Righteousness by Grace,” we explore one of the most important truths of the Gospel: our righteousness does not come from our own works—it comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Many people believe that if they live a good life, follow the commandments, help others, and avoid doing wrong, they will become acceptable before God. But Scripture presents a deeper truth. Our human righteousness can never reach God's perfect standard. Romans 3:21–23 teaches us that the righteousness of God is revealed apart from the law and comes through faith in Jesus Christ. Since all have sinned and fallen short of God's glory, we need something greater than our own goodness—we need the righteousness of God. This lesson explains the difference between: Human righteousness and God's righteousness Righteousness based on works and righteousness based on faith Trying to earn God's acceptance and receiving His grace Religious effort and genuine faith in Jesus Christ Our own righteousness and the righteousness provided through Christ We also look at the life of Abraham, who was counted righteous because he believed God. His story helps us understand that righteousness has always been connected to faith and trust in God's promise. Romans 5:17 describes righteousness as a gift. A gift cannot be earned; it must be received. In the same way, God's righteousness is not something we achieve through our performance. It is something God provides through Jesus Christ. This message also explores Titus 3:5, 2 Corinthians 5:21, Romans 3:22, Philippians 3:9, Galatians 2:21, and Romans 5:17. 📖 Bible Passages Covered • Romans 3:21–23 • Titus 3:5 • 2 Corinthians 5:21 • Romans 3:22 • Philippians 3:9 • Galatians 2:21 • Romans 5:17 ✝️ The Central Message You cannot earn God's righteousness through your own goodness. You cannot buy it through religious works. You cannot achieve it through human effort. God's righteousness is received through faith in Jesus Christ. The Gospel is good news because God offers what we could never produce by ourselves. Through Christ, we can have forgiveness, acceptance, right standing with God, and a new relationship with Him. So the question is not simply: “Am I a good person?” The deeper question is: “Am I trusting in my own righteousness, or am I trusting in Jesus Christ?” If this message helps you understand God's grace more clearly, share it with someone who needs to hear this truth. 🙏 May this teaching help you grow deeper in your understanding of God's grace, faith, righteousness, and the finished work of Jesus Christ.
