Stage Monster, Cat Angel: The Dark Secret of Wes Borland..!

Stage Monster, Cat Angel: The Dark Secret of Wes Borland Behind the thick black body paint, terrifying horror masks, and nightmarish costumes hides a musical genius who forever changed the world of nu metal. Wes Borland is not your average guitarist — he deliberately chose to become a monster on stage, yet secretly became an angel to hundreds of stray cats in Detroit. Known as the experimental guitarist of Limp Bizkit, Wes Borland created bizarre guitar sounds, broken rhythms, and dark atmospheres that defined the nu metal era. From the massive albums Significant Other to Chocolate Starfish and the Hot Dog Flavored Water, his wild tremolo effects, percussive techniques, and seven-string guitar work made Limp Bizkit sound completely different from every other band in the genre. But away from the spotlight, Wes is a completely different man. A passionate cat lover who, together with his ex-wife Kaye Callaway, rescued and rehomed hundreds of stray cats in Detroit. The same person who looks like a horror movie creature on stage spends his free time feeding and saving abandoned animals. This video dives deep into the full story of Wes Borland: his religious upbringing in Virginia, move to Jacksonville, joining Limp Bizkit, creative conflicts, multiple departures and reunions with the band, and his highly experimental solo projects with Black Light Burns and Big Dumb Face. We also explore the darker chapters — losing millions in bad investments, complicated marriages, and why he chose to become a “monster” on stage. 🎸 Topics covered: • The truth behind Wes Borland’s extreme stage persona • His revolutionary guitar techniques in nu metal • The incredible cat rescue story in Detroit • Breakups and reunions with Limp Bizkit • Solo work and collaborations (Marilyn Manson, Resident Evil soundtrack, League of Legends) Wes Borland proved that you don’t have to be “normal” to become a legend.
