Description

How did a song that seemed too long for radio become one of rock music’s most iconic recordings? In 1976, Don Felder created the music for “Hotel California,” working with Don Henley and Glenn Frey on the song. Felder initially doubted that its long introduction and extended guitar solo would work as a single. Don Henley insisted on releasing it. The song went on to win the Grammy Award for Record of the Year in 1978. Its unforgettable guitar ending helped make “Hotel California” a lasting classic.
