Then WP class loco hauled Taj express crossed 100kmph first time in Indian railways, after that WDM 4 loco hauled Rajdhani express touched the speed of 130kmph. during 80s WAP 3 hauled Bhopal Shatabdi was the first train to reach 140kmph with ICF coaches which feels next to impossible at the present era. again the same Bhopal Shatabdi touched 150 kmph after being upgraded to LHB coaches. After that Gatiman express set record of 160kmph with WAP 5 and LHB coaches and present era Indian Railways is trying to beat that record. We had legendary fast electric locos such as WAP1 , WAP3, WAP4 and WAP5 which is also known as the fastest locomotive of Indian Railways. Also we had some superfast diesel locos such as WDM4, WDP2 or WDP3A and WDP4 which holds title of fastest diesel loco of Indian Railways. Currently Indian Railways having Vande Bharat express as the fastest train.
