Description
Fair Value Gaps — Why Price Always Comes Back (And When It Does Not) (video 13)
Have you ever watched price move so fast that it left a visible gap on your chart? A space between candles where price never actually traded. And then hours or days later, price came back and filled that exact space before continuing in the original direction. That is not random. That is a fair value gap. And understanding why it forms, why price tends to return to it, and how to use it as evidence in your trading is one of the most practically useful skills you can develop.
In this video you will learn exactly what a fair value gap is — a three-candle pattern where the middle candle moves so aggressively that it creates a space between the wicks of the candles around it. You will understand why fair value gaps form at the order book level — when large concentrated orders consume multiple price levels simultaneously, leaving behind levels where no normal buyer-seller interaction occurred. You will learn the four factors that determine how meaningful a specific fair value gap is likely to be — the size of the displacement, the timeframe, the structural context, and whether the gap is fresh or has already been tested. You will understand how fair value gaps work in combination with order blocks — when both sit in the same zone, you have two separate pieces of evidence pointing to the same level. You will learn what filling actually means — why full penetration to the opposite boundary is not required, and why a meaningful reaction within the zone is the signal you are actually looking for. And you will get the four most common fair value gap mistakes — treating every gap as a guaranteed fill zone, marking every small gap, entering without waiting for reaction, and ignoring partial mitigation.
Fair value gaps are not magic. They are observable evidence of price imbalance. The market has tendencies. One of those tendencies is to return to areas of imbalance. Your job is to identify those areas precisely, evaluate the context, and act on confirmation rather than anticipation.
This is not financial advice. This is education.
