She Hid Her Nest in the Sagebrush… But Predators Were Watching | Nature Documentary

Across the vast sagebrush country of western North America, a Greater Sage-Grouse mother faces one of the greatest challenges of raising her young in the wild. Her nest is hidden beneath the sagebrush. Her eggs are carefully protected. But predators are always watching. Ravens, hawks, foxes, coyotes, and other predators search the landscape for an opportunity. With camouflage as her greatest defense, the mother must protect her chicks from the moment they hatch. As the tiny sage-grouse chicks grow, they learn how to find food, hide from predators, follow their mother, and survive the harsh conditions of the American sagebrush. This nature documentary follows the remarkable journey of a Greater Sage-Grouse family—from a hidden nest to the dangerous first months of life in the wild. Watch as these young birds face predators, heat, cold, hunger, and the constant struggle to survive.
