India’s 5 Secret Units Almost Nobody Knows About | SFF, Special Group, RAW & ARC Discover the lesser-known history of India’s secret military and intelligence organisations in this episode. Explore the Special Frontier Force, Establishment 22, Special Group, military intelligence, aerial reconnaissance and frontier preparedness. This documentary covers five organisations associated with India’s national security: Special Frontier Force (SFF), Special Group (4 Vikas), Technical Support Division (TSD), Aviation Research Centre (ARC), and the original Special Service Bureau (SSB). What you’ll discover: 1. Special Frontier Force (SFF) — Establishment 22, its Tibetan origins, mountain warfare role, and reported involvement in the 1971 war and 2020 Ladakh standoff. 2. Special Group — 4 Vikas, its reported history, specialised training and place in India’s covert operations history. 3. Technical Support Division (TSD) — its reported origins after the 26/11 Mumbai attacks, mandate, controversies and eventual closure. 4. Aviation Research Centre (ARC) — aerial reconnaissance, surveillance and intelligence collection, including its Cold War-era background. 5. Special Service Bureau — the original SSB, its frontier preparedness mission and transformation into today’s Sashastra Seema Bal. The documentary also explores the Directorate General of Security (DGS), the Cabinet Secretariat, Research and Analysis Wing (R&AW/RAW), and published accounts concerning CIT-X and CIT-J. From the aftermath of the 1962 India-China to Bangladesh in 1971 and eastern Ladakh in 2020, discover how specialised organisations developed alongside India’s conventional armed forces.
