Description

Retiring at 54 required sacrifices—but probably not the ones most people expect. _________________________________________________________________________________________ 📊 PLAN YOUR RETIREMENT WITH BOLDIN I use Boldin to model retirement scenarios, spending, taxes, and other long-term financial decisions. If you want to build and test your own retirement plan, you can check it out here: https://go.boldin.com/scottunlocked Disclosure: This is an affiliate link. That included resisting lifestyle inflation, keeping phones and vehicles much longer, giving up some immediate tax breaks to create more financial flexibility, and investing a great deal of time and energy into my career. But we didn’t eliminate everything that brought us joy. We continued traveling, creating family memories, giving to our church and charities, and spending money on the things that genuinely mattered to us. Ultimately, the biggest tradeoff wasn’t between spending and saving. It was between having more money and having more time. What is one thing you would give up to retire earlier—and what is one thing you would never be willing to sacrifice?
