How many BALLOONS to lift Seed? 🎈 every test is BIGGER

Kevin wants Seed GONE… so he ties party balloons to him. 1 → 10 → 100 → 500 → 100,000 → 15,000,000 → 1,010,000,000 balloons! 🎈 (Kevin didn't plan to come along…) How many balloons would it take to lift YOU? (your weight in kg × 100) 👇 The real numbers: • One 11-inch helium party balloon lifts about 10 g (Qualatex helium lift chart). • Seed weighs 5 kg → 500 balloons = Seed floats! • 100,000 balloons = 1 tonne = a small car. • 15,000,000 balloons = 150 tonnes = a blue whale (Britannica: an adult blue whale is about 150 t). • 1,010,000,000 balloons = 10,100 tonnes = the Eiffel Tower (official Eiffel Tower site: total weight 10,100 t). • About 8 km up, the air pressure is only about 1/3 of sea level, so latex balloons swell about 3 times bigger… and POP (released party balloons usually burst a few km up; big weather balloons reach 30-35 km; the balloon altitude record is 53 km, JAXA 2002). #shorts #seed #kevin #balloons #helium #physics #satisfying
