Step into the golden era of classic Italian cinema with a sophisticated, witty comedy of manners! Watch the full movie "Quartieri alti" (1945), masterfully directed by the acclaimed novelist and filmmaker Mario Soldati. Co-written by legendary screenwriters like Renato Castellani and adapted from a concept by the famous French playwright Jean Anouilh, this rare cinematic treasure is now beautifully restored and available in stunning 4K Ultra HD (2160p) with English subtitles. Synopsis: The film offers a sharp, elegant, and satirical glance into the absurdities, pretenses, and hidden secrets of the upper-class Italian bourgeoisie. The story follows a series of delightful, chaotic misunderstandings when high-society expectations clash with raw human nature, sudden romance, and unexpected deceptive schemes. When a charming but penniless outsider is pushed into the exclusive "high quarters" of society, the rigid rules of the aristocracy begin to unravel. Featuring an extraordinary cast of the era, including the radiant Adriana Benetti, the commanding Nerio Bernardi, and the brilliant Enzo Biliotti, Quartieri alti weaves a sparkling web of elegant humor, irony, and social commentary that remains incredibly captivating to this day. A Cinematic Time Capsule: Filmed during a transitional and historic period for Italian cinema, Quartieri alti stands out for its literary wit, exquisite art direction, and sophisticated pacing, perfectly mocking the superficiality of the mid-century elite.
