What Retired Cops Tell Their Daughters to Keep in the Car (Most Women Don't) When Sergeant Dan Perillo's daughter Megan headed off to college, he didn't hand her car air fresheners—he put a simple plastic tub in her trunk and spent ten minutes going through every single item. Three winters later, stranded on a dark two-lane road at 11:00 PM with a flat tire and no phone signal, Megan locked her doors, turned on the heat, fixed the tire herself, waved off a stranger who stopped to help, and drove home safely.
