This girl kept hearing strange noises upstairs — Her heart drops when she discovers why

In the summer of 2026, Heidi Widmer moved from Buffalo to the Los Angeles area and struggled with noise from the apartment above her. She later met Carole, her 86-year-old neighbor, after Carole dropped her recycling. The sounds Heidi had heard were connected to Carole’s difficulty moving around with a walker. Heidi began helping with everyday tasks, and their visits grew into a friendship. ABC7 spoke with Heidi and with Carole by phone. This video follows that change from frustration to understanding, and the practical help that made the relationship part of their daily lives.
