20 Department Store Things You'll Never See Again

20 Department Store Things You'll Never See Again Remember when a trip to the department store felt like an adventure, full of sights, sounds and smells that have since vanished for good? Step back through the revolving door and rediscover twenty classic department store memories you'll never experience again. Chase the spinning Kmart Blue Light Special, circle toys in the Sears Wish Book on the living room carpet, and peek at your own toe bones in a shoe-fitting x-ray machine. Ride with an elevator operator calling out every floor, spin on a lunch counter stool, squeeze into a glass record booth, and watch your money whoosh away through a pneumatic tube. There are laser backdrops at the portrait studio, warm cashews in a greasy paper bag, dime-store turtles, organ demonstrators, bargain basements, and those sturdy gift boxes nobody ever threw away. Watch to the end, then tell us in the comments which of these you miss the most.
