Description
📕 The Home Savings Manual — 79 ways to stop overpaying for your own house:
https://brendacarver.com/
In January I pulled everything out of my freezer onto the kitchen table and counted, and what I was really counting was money. A full freezer is food you already paid for, and every bag in the bin is a twenty-dollar bill you handed the cashier twice. Our grandmothers wrapped it right, dated it, and ate what they froze.
In this one I'll walk you through everything I threw out of my freezer this year, why, and what I do now:
🥩 Freezer-burned beef in the store wrap, and how to wrap meat so the cold can't rob it
🥦 Steamer-bag vegetables, grainy ice cream, and raw potatoes that turned to mush
🧀 Cream sauces and soft dairy that split, and the hard cheese and butter that freeze beautifully
🍞 Breakfast sandwiches, forgotten bread and berries fused into a brick
…and the real thing I threw out this year: the forgetting. A row of containers with no name and no date.
A marker, a strip of masking tape and a list on the door, and you'll keep your money right where it belongs.
If saving money and a smarter freezer sound good to you, subscribe and stick around — that's what we do here every week. 💛
What's the worst thing you've ever pulled out of the back of your freezer? Tell me down in the comments.
